FRET12 Artist Connect with Rani from Stolen Babies // (Part One)

FRET12 met up with Rani Sharone of Stolen Babies backstage at the House of Blues Chicago where the experimental rock trio was opening for Stone Sour!

Getting his start back in high school, Sharone actually played both bass and guitar- and along with his brother Gil, was incredibly into bands like Primus, Fishbone, and Mr. Bungle.  With one listen of Rani's experimental and avant-garde style, listeners can hear the massive role that this music played in his playing and writing.

Garnering a lot of ideas from improvisation and noodling around, Rani explains how a lot of his ideas can come from taking more technical practices and ideas and seeing how we can morph that very idea into something more musical.

If you have not checked this band out, this is a band you have GOT to hear!  With a totally unconventional approach and brutally honest musical tactics, they are sure to please even the most discerning listener!
