Brent Smith, lead singer of rock band Shinedown, sat down to talk with Full Metal Jackie about the band's upcoming new material, band history, and other Shinedown news; which all comes immediately after the release of a brand new single called "Cut the Cord".
Amidst a sea of other 2000s bands making comebacks after some lengthy hiatuses, Shinedown has plans to release not only a new record, but one that may be the band's biggest and best yet. If you thought their last album didn't quite measure up to "Sound of Madness", you owe it to yourself to give the new song a listen. "Cut the Cord" provides a solid four on the floor stomp in addition to Brent Smith's rapid fire vocal assault. It is definitely a continuation of the "new generation" Shinedown sound (Myers/Bass era), but seems to be demonstrating that the new line up is meshing creatively and writing catchier songs with each passing year!
This is the first new tune from the band since 2012's Amaryllis (which featured songs "Bully", "Unity", and "Enemies") and is the first taste of where the band is headed in 2015 and beyond. Want more info? Read the full interview piece from Loudwire.com here:
