Eleven is an independently produced, luxury print magazine on the themes of music, creativity and storytelling, with guitar as a springboard for the stories. Eleven is a female-owned platform for sharing beautiful photography, but also, to push beyond that, to lift up interesting people from all corners of the guitar world, to build relationships and celebrate the things that inspire us to create.

ISSUE 3 features – with Shermy Freeman featured on the cover
Issue three of ELEVEN has arrived! For the first time, this edition features a split cover with two cover stars – Shermy Freeman from The Surfrajettes and Jennie Vee (see her cover here) from Midnight Cowgirls and Eagles of Death Metal. With eleven stories spread across 132 pages, both covers offer the same captivating content. In the cover features, ELEVEN visits a pink laundrette with Jennie Vee to explore the connections between art, style, and music, and steps into the kitsch and colorful world of Shermy Freeman, an inspiration for living life on the sunny side.

This issue delves into tales of Bigfoot, skinwalkers, and heavy metal in the Navajo Nation with the Paranormal Ranger, goes surfing and checks out a classic car show with Andy Powers to learn more about his SoCal-inspired electrics, and cruises across San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge for a visit to one of the world’s premier collections of antique guitars.

The adventure continues into the desert, where yet another rental car meets its demise en route to the legendary Rancho De La Luna recording studio with Queens of the Stone Age co-founder David Catching. ELEVEN also explores the mysterious world of the much-mythologized amp builder Howard Alexander Dumble and uncovers the story behind Jack White’s Kay archtop—a thrift store find that shaped one of rock’s most iconic riffs.

Guitar lovers will find plenty more to dive into, including a stunning collection of golden-era Gibson and Fender guitars, featuring the earliest-known Telecaster and a Burst used in the studio by Eddie Van Halen. There’s also a visit to Pasadena to meet R2R Electric and discuss the magic of pedal-building with authentic vintage components. To round it all off, guitarist Nathaniel Murphy—fresh from soundtracking Harrison Ford during the Super Bowl ad break—shares five essential tips for becoming a more creative player.
