It’s been nearly 4 years since we heard a new full length from the post-grunge masters, Art of dying, and for some fans, that’s 4 years too long! That acoustic compilation album doesn’t really satiate the desire for the true-alt sound. Well, for those who have been waiting so patiently, your wait is not over! The band, seemingly out of nowhere (besides a few Facebook posts leading up to it), released an EP. For something that seemed to came as a surprise to most people, it’s definitely a surprisingly good release from the band!
You can listen to the EP in it’s entirety via Spotify:
The EP puts forth some pretty heavy sounding material for an alternative sound, but also has some lighter moments. Everything (the song on the album), for example, has an upbeat piano piece, as well as a heartfelt acoustic part for good measure, but immediately afterwards, it’s followed by Eat You Alive, which goes in the complete opposite direction. It definitely sounds like something the band worked very hard to make, despite the fact that it wasn’t actually promoted.
