Fresh off the release of a brand new single and a lead singer taking home an Academy Award, modern rock leviathans Linkin Park and 30 Seconds to Mars (respectively) have joined forces for the first time ever to co-headline the 2014 summer live music tour: Carnivores

As two of the biggest bands in rock right now, it is hard to believe that they have not shared a tour up to this point.  Well the wait is over, and the time is this summer!  The two bands will be bringing special guests, alternative punk-rockers AFI with them as well on a tour that spans dozens of cities across the United States.

Linkin Park announced yesterday that tickets for the tour are now officially for sale, alongside the addition of 6 more tour stops which were added to the total run.  Premium ticket packages are available on select tour dates and can be found here:

Linkin Park chose to release their newest single in an interesting fashion as well, giving fans an exclusive first listen through the music-identifying app Shazam.  All listeners had to do was tag an existing LP song and the app gave them a link to hear the song before anyone else.  "Millions of people use Shazam everyday to gain an understanding of the music they hear in their own lives, including us. The idea of a musically engaged community hearing our brand new single "Guilty All The Same" (feat. Rakim) early, was extremely exciting to us, " the band replied in regards to their musical release.

30 Seconds to Mars is also currently on the Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams world tour (supporting their latest album of the same name) throughout most of 2013 and 2014.  This year will be taking the band through Russia, Australia, Japan, South America, and Europe before returning stateside to kick off the Carnivores tour.

The late summer tour is slated to kick off on August 8th in West Palm Beach, FL and will conclude with several dates on the west coast, eventually wrapping up in Concord, CA!
