Musikmesse 2015, one of the largest the largest musical instrument conference in the world, is in full swing. There’s already been some amazing announcements, including Orange’s new Rockerverb model, which looks absolutely amazing. In terms of guitars, however, there hasn’t been anything too big. Yesterday, Ibanez announced that they’d be releasing 50 JS guitars featuring hand-drawn illustrations from Joe Satriani himself. While they’re beautiful guitars, they’ll be out of the price range for most people, and odds are, they’re gonna go away pretty fast. Other than the Satrianis, there was one other pretty special guitar that was announced: the Bjorn Gelotte signature Les Paul custom from Epiphone. That’s right, the masterful In Flames guitarist is getting his own signature model released!
Epiphone announced the new Les Paul Custom yesterday in Frankfurt, with a special appearance from Gelotte, and claimed that the new guitar would be available sometime in Summer 2015.
Check out the pictures of this thing:
Pretty snazzy, huh? Epiphone spared no expense to make this guitar look the way it does, with a classic Mahogany body, an Ebony gloss finish, 5-layer cream & black binding, an Ebony fingerboard, and a Mahogany neck with a rounded Custom 59 Profile. Epiphone also announced they’d be fitting an EMG-85 USA MetalWorks active humbucker in the neck position and an EMG-81 USA in the lead position. While there’s been no official price announced, you can bet that this thing is going to hit your wallet a little hard, but that’s not so big of a deal, as you’ll be getting an absolutely stunning guitar in exchange for your arm and leg.
