FINCH IS BACK!!!! (TO OBLIVION)

FINCH IS BACK!!!! (TO OBLIVION)

Rewind to late 2012, when hardcore band Finch shocked fans across the music scene when they announced that they would be re-uniting with their original lineup to play a series of exclusive 10th anniversary shows.  The band planned to play their debut full length album "What It Is To Burn" in its entirety, plus some other fan favorites from "Say Hello to Sunshine" (the band's lesser known/a bit misunderstood 2nd album).

These first few anniversary shows proved to not be nearly enough to satisfy the insane demand shown by passionate fans around the globe, so the band began to add even more 10th anniversary shows, resulting in a quite-lengthy tour!

The tour seemed to be just what the band needed, as the overwhelming fan response re-lit the band's fire for the old material and before we could even blink an eye, new material was already announced to be in the works!

Fast forward to late 2014, and Finch has been teasing fans all year long with the singles "Two Guns to the Temple" and "Anywhere But Here"!  The response from both fans and press has been beyond positive, with a true "return to form" to the band's signature sound on top of a massive dose of sonic maturity and raw energy.

Diffuser.FM may have put it best:

"At first, you say to yourself, “Where’s that ‘What It Is to Burn’ sound that we all loved and cherished?” But after a few listens, you realize that they only matured on a sound they harnessed 10 years ago — and it’s great."

Finch paved the way for legions of bands in the early 2000s with their hardcore meets pop meets emo sound, and many feared that sound was permanently lost when the band first lost original drummer Alex Pappas, and then broke up a few years later.  But like all good things, time is sometimes all that is needed to heal something great- and bring it back better than it ever was!

If you are hesitant of the emo or hardcore/screamy label they have, fear not- this band will appeal to a wide variety of rock ears.  In fact if you liked 2000-era Incubus, this particular album will for sure be a delight to your ear drums!  Plenty of melody and aggression all around, and moody transitions galore!
