With the Oscars come and gone, people can now see all of the awarded movies that they may have missed out on from last year. People everywhere slept on great movies like Birdman and The Grand Budapest, but in terms of most slept-on, the award has to go to Whiplash. It was an absolutely phenomenal movie, but completely overcast by other releases, it seems. Birdman ended up grossing $38 Million, The Grand Budapest grossed just shy of $60 Million. Whiplash ended up coming in at just above $11 Million, and for a movie as good as it was, it’s almost criminal. Luckily, the DVD and Blu Ray releases are coming soon, so this is the time to make up a lot of ground. Artists are giving the film a much needed boost too, by putting themselves on the special features list, including Korn’s own Ray Luzier.
The Blu Ray special features includes a little segment called Timekeepers, where famous drummers come together to discuss their craft and passion for drumming. Luzier brought attention to the special features by making this post on Twitter:
along with a similar post on Facebook:
A very awesome solo by Luzier, but he’s not the only one to join in on the special features. Drummers from acts like Jethro Tull, Lucious Jackson, Cannonball Adderley, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Weather Report, and the Go-Go’s will also be featured, and even made a little trailer for the mini-documentary thing:
Point being, go buy Whiplash, go watch Whiplash, crash your car and get whiplash, who cares? Just do something that involves Whiplash.
