It’s no secret at this point that Megadeth is shattered at the moment, and the news that guitarist Chris Broderick and drummer Shawn Drover left the band months ago shouldn’t be surprising to anyone. With just Dave Mustaine and David Ellefson left, they’ve been busy teasing who the new members might be pretty heavily. Ellefson has made a few instagram posts that include a potential new drummer, with the true identity hard to determine with what was shown, and Mustaine has been tweeting consistently about the progress for auditioning new guitarists. Which, as he’s making it seem, is just about done, since he tweeted this on March 10th:

As well as making this post on the 14th:

So it seems the lineup has been officially figured out, or it should be, since the band was also supposed to enter the studio on the 17th in Nashville.

Before the band will actually release these hints to who the new members may be, blabbermouth may have already figured it out. Maybe. Possibly. It’s up to you to determine the validity of anything you may read on the internet, especially with something that uses the word ‘rumor’ again and again. According to Blabbermouth, the rumor is that the band has hired Lamb of God drummer Chris Adler, and Angra guitarist Kiko Loureiro. In their post they said:

“MEGADETH is rumored to have hired drummer Chris Adler (LAMB OF GOD) and Brazilian guitarist Kiko Loureiro (ANGRA) to play on the band's new album.”

“If true, Adler's involvement with MEGADETH would apparently be limited to studio work only, and he would not be expected to join the band on the road to promote the CD, which is scheduled to be recorded starting on March 17 in Nashville, Tennessee.”

While this may not be enough context for some people to believe, rightfully so, former Megadeth drummer and speculated Drover replacement Nick Menza kinda sorta added a little bit of validity to the claim by posting this video of himself doing a drum solo on YouTube:

Obviously, the tile stands out first: ‘Maybe I can play on Lamb of God’s new album?’, but not only that, Menza also wrote a comment on his own video, saying:

“Well since Adler is playing on the new Megadeth album. Do I get to play on Lamb of God new album ? I'm down for it .... Chris you rock ! one of my favorite drummers, good luck bro …..”

So, maybe there’s a bit of validity to the rumors? Or maybe Menza also got caught up in the rumor? Who knows, really. So far, neither Adler nor Loureiro have made a comment on the rumors. Now, all that’s left is to wait patiently for Dave Mustaine or Dave Ellefson to tease us with more of their vague hints as to who the new drummer may be.
