THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN RELEASE NEW VIDEO FOR PARANOIA SHIELDS

It’s been almost 2 years since The Dillinger Escape Plan released their fifth studio album, One Of Us Is the Killer, and the one which many consider to be their greatest work. While we all hold our breath for the band’s follow-up, which hasn’t even been announced yet, the band have kept themselves busy through touring, picking fights with members of The Ghost Inside for making their album cover for Dear Youth eerily similar to that of One of Us is the Killer, and doing a few Bad Brains covers onstage with some other familiar faces…

Now, however, the band has finally released something new, for the first time in 2 years! Today (May 8th), via Party Smasher Inc., the band released their third and final music video for One of Us is the Killer. Following up their last music video for When I Lost My Bet (which remains one of the best songs off of the album), that was released a few days before the album came out on April 23rd, the band has now released their video for Paranoia Shields. In typical Dillinger style, the video is just as gruesome as the last few have been, featuring lots of imagery of flesh being ripped, gratuitous amounts of blood, facial deformations, grainy video filters, abrupt endings, and, of course, various different types of feathers. It should be noted that these videos can be viewed as NSFW for being so violent. You have been warned:

Check out the video for When I Lost My Bet, and see how similar the videos really are:

While the imagery truly fits the frantic nature of some of Dillinger’s songs, someone should probably tell the band (or whoever directed these music videos) that birds are, in fact, not blood piñatas, that explode with blood when bitten into. Despite gratuitous violence, the video is pretty cool, and should be enough to keep most fans content for another month. Then, the pleas for another album can begin anew…
