A new album is in the works by a metric ton of artists, and they’ve just signed with Rise Records under the name of Teenage Time Killer. The project is set to unleash an album upon the world in 2015. Why is this supergroup any more super than the last one, you may ask yourself? Well, the lineup for this band would give Charles Manson a run for his money when it comes to insanity. We’re talking some asylum levels of insanity here.
Teenage Time Killer will feature Queen of the Stone Age’s Nick Oliveri on Bass, Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe, Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl, Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, Dead Kennedys’ Jello Biafra, Black Flag’s Keith Morris, Soulfly’s Max Cavalera, Clutch’s Neil Fallon, Fear’s Lee Ving, and members of The Misfits, Municipal Waste, Red Fang, Goatsnake, Brujeria, My Ruin, Prong, Articles of Faith, and Sunn O))). The group was formed back in February by Corrosion of Conformity’s Reed Mullin and Mike Dean as a much smaller project, but grew to what it is now. Speaking to WFMU earlier this year, Mullin said:
"We had all these other folks that want to participate. It’s a very good mixture of old hardcore punk, punk and metal stuff … People are going to be pleasantly surprised. It’s pretty cool."
With so many artists over so many different subgenres of loud rock, this will be one of the most intense collabs ever, and one of the most hyped albums of 2015, now that it’s guaranteed to be happening. They’ve got members of Black Flag AND The Misfits, and there’s a bit of Sunn O))) in there. There’s no guarantee that it’ll be the best album of 2015, but it will be the most interesting.
Here’s a video the group posted back in October featuring Johnny Webber of Ghost of Saturday Nite as well as Mike Dean and Reed Mullin in the studio:
