It seems recently that more and more artists are taking up residency on talk shows. Foo Fighters spent a week promoting Sonic Highways on Letterman, U2 was supposed to do a week on Jimmy Fallon’s show before Bono had his accident, and now, Metallica have joined in to do their stuff on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. The performances were set to lead up to Ferguson’s retirement from the show, after being turned down to replace Letterman. The band played their sets, and talked for awhile on Monday.
During their talks, they touched on a lot of subjects like Barry Manilow, the Metallica documentary, and broached other different topics. One of the funniest being Lars Ulrich talking about his experiences with Motorhead, where he said
“Lemmy came to town, and I was pretty nervous, so [I drank] a couple of shots of straight vodka....So I tried that outside of Lemmy's hotel, walked in and a couple of hours later I woke up and I'd been photographed and it ended up on the inner sleeve of the next Motorhead album."
